1. Installation
Automatic installation.
Right PDF Printer SE supports Windows Point and Print architecture. You need to install the printer only once on your server machine. Every time any user creates a network connection to the printer all required files are copied automatically. No special action is required from neither users nor administrators.
Manual installation.
In some rare cases when you cannot or do not want to use Windows Point and Print capabilities the manual installation mode should be used. Note that it is highly recommended to use Point and Print wherever possible. For manual installation do a normal install of Right PDF Printer SE on your server machine. Then run the installation with the '/type=client' command line parameter on each client machine.
Installing and using Right PDF Printer SE in Terminal Services environments.
It is recommended to use Right PDF Printer as a local printer on the server machine in Terminal Services environments. This method reduces possible third-party software compatibility issues to minimum.
If you plan for your users to access Right PDF Printer as a redirected printer in Terminal Services sessions you need to add the following line to user logon script of your server machine:
\vprninst /ts /model "Right PDF Printer SE" /proc reaproc
Where is the path you installed Right PDF Printer SE to ('C:\Program Files\Right PDF Printer SE' by default).
2. Users
Here you can assign available licenses to users that access Right PDF Printer on your print server and manage printer settings for those users.
Create group Creates a printer settings user group. Each group must have a unique name.
Delete group Delete a printer settings user group. All users from that group are moved to 'General' default group.
Add user Adds a user to the list of licensed users. Each Right PDF Printer Server Edition license has a limited number of users allowed to access it. Changes to the licensed users list are not saved until you click 'OK' or 'Apply'.
User settings This option leaves printer settings for the selected user unaltered. User has full control over his printer settings.
Load settings from Use this option to change user printer settings once. User settings are read from global settings or file. This is done next time user accesses the printer. After that user has 'user settings' option again.
Bind settings to Use this option to permanently set user printer settings to that of global settings or file. User cannot change his printer settings.
